Although the books arrived just a few weeks before the school year ended, they immediately made a difference. Students gravitated toward the colorful covers and relatable themes, and several took books home to continue reading over the summer. We're so excited that two grade levels of heritage speakers—and an entirely new group of incoming 6th graders—will get to use these books when school resumes this fall. Your donation is a gift that keeps giving!\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is interactive and personal. Students annotate, discuss, and connect with the stories in ways that honor both their language skills and lived experiences. The new books are helping us introduce essential literacy concepts—like identifying themes, making inferences, and analyzing character development—through stories that reflect students' cultures and voices. One student, Giselle, said, \"This book feels like it was written for someone like me.\" Several students who previously hesitated to read in Spanish now feel more confident, and a few have even started writing their own stories.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our classroom now feels more complete.
