Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We live in a world full of wonder and curiosity. As the world continues to develop and industrialize, the process of industrialization has become increasingly more innovative and environmentally conscious. We have created technology that has revolutionized our ability to supply food and tend to our surrounding ecosystems. Oftentimes, however, when we think of these technological advancements we think of STEM, without realizing the crucial role agricultural sciences have played in this revolution. It is time for our youth to reignite their curiosity about the natural world, and get their hands dirty through their exploration of Agricultural Technologies, a new course offered at our school.

The supplies I am requesting will provide my students with the tools they need to plant the seeds of the future.

The agricultural technologies class will provide an introduction to the broad scope of agriculture and its applications in the modern world. This course will explore the interdisciplinary nature of agriculture, with a specific focus on plant science, animal science, and environmental sciences. Through our understanding of these areas, we will work to find innovative solutions for feeding the world and protecting our planet for generations to come.

P.S. The coffee pot is to collect coffee grounds for composting
