Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low-income homes. Many of them are English language learners with little to no English exposure. Despite the hardships some go through, they still manage to come to school each day and enter the classroom with smiles on their faces. When they enter my class, they are curious and eager to learn!

My students are innovative, creative, and excited to learn.

One hundred percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. It is very unfortunate that due to their socioeconomic status, my students do not have the same materials or opportunities that they strongly deserve to become successful learners. The pandemic and distance learning had a huge impact on all students. They need support now more then ever.

My Project

These snacks will be used in a variety of ways. I need a restock of snacks and food for my students. For some of my students, school is the only place they gt food to eat.

Many of them don't have much food at home so I give them extra food at school and send food home with them to keep them full until they come back the next day.

The snacks will fill their tummies, get them on track, and be ready to continue learning. I will also be sending home snacks with students to help set them up for the weekends.
