My Project

Our special education classroom, catering to kindergarten through 5th-grade students, aims to foster independence and self-sufficiency in our diverse learners. We are seeking funding through DonorsChoose to implement a comprehensive life skills program centered around cleaning, laundry, and money management. By creating a simulated cleaning station with sensory-friendly vacuums, mops, and cleaning solutions (Water Spray Bottles and washcloths), we will instill a sense of responsibility and pride in maintaining a clean environment. Additionally, setting up a laundry corner with essentials like accessible folding tools will empower students to learn vital laundry skills, promoting self-reliance. Moreover, we plan to provide educational games and resources on money management, encouraging financial literacy and responsible spending habits for a successful future. The impact of this project will be profound, benefiting over 15 special education students each year.

As they engage in hands-on learning experiences, our students will develop essential life skills, boost their confidence, and enhance their overall academic performance.

Equipping them with functional life skills will not only empower them in the classroom but also enable them to navigate daily tasks with confidence outside of school. By supporting this project, donors will contribute to creating an inclusive and empowering learning environment, where every child can reach their full potential, regardless of their unique abilities.
