Fantastic First Grade Activities

Help me give my students writing tablets, headphones, and other materials for the ability to work on their Chrome Books without the distraction of hearing their neighbors.

My Students

Every day is a great day in 1st grade! I love my job and the students I have the privilege of teaching. I make sure I take time everyday to look into each child's eyes and let them know they are important and special. Covid has added extra stress to this job.

My classroom is about learning building character, working hard, and helping others.

Each child is unique with special gifts and challenges. We work together as a class to help each other every day. They learn through experience and enjoy interacting with and learning from each other.

My Project

Many students are still playing catch up from Covid. These hands on activities will allow them to learn necessary skills they might have missed during shutdown.

Students learning, growing, reaching and stretching independently is one of my class goals.

I like to see them work independently at times throughout the day so they gain confidence in themselves. Many of them had parents sit by them and work with them online during COVID and those students still don't feel confident to work independently. The items I am wishing for will allow my students to work hard, gain independence, and gain confidence. The headphones will allow the students to work without distractions on their Chromebooks. The LCD writing tablets will allow me to quickly see if the student are understanding LA and math concepts I am teaching as I walk around the room and observe while I teach. STEM activities such as Marble Run sets and Magnet Tiles, and LA games allow the students to work independently figuring out how to create, build and practice skills. This will allow me to pull students back one on one or in small groups for extra practice.

The activities will be a great way fo the students to interact with classmates while learning first grade concepts. First graders are active and love to participate in hands on learning activities. Working independently will help them gain confidence.
