Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very special to me. Each year I get a group of children and I say this is my best class. But I can truly say that this year is the best they are so kind and caring for one another. I love to see how they share their thoughts and feeling in a positive way. I teach them in the beginning that we are a family away from our family at home and that we care for each other in such a manner. My students are first-grade friends. They are a fun group of children and it makes me happy to be their teacher.

My Project

Every year we have a fun in the sun activities for our first graders. I need more activities for my students to use. The things that I order will truly make this experience fun and exciting for them. Most of our students do not get to experience playing outside due to the area in which they live. The go home and remain inside due to the unsafe neighborhood. These games and activities will help them learn how to play fair and learn sportsmanship. I took a class survey and found out most of my students don't play physical games. They only play video games and watch television. When I was a child we played connect four, dominos. life, checkers and other board games. This will help develop social skills, coping with winning or losing as well as collaborating with each other. I feel that these skills help children at the elementary level grow and become productive adults. Thank you
