My Project

Many of my Pre-K students come from low socio economic situations, which often means they do not have many books at home. They need exposure to books to develop the skills of hearing a fluent reader, learning how to hold a book and track the print from left to right. They also build their vocabulary by hearing books and discussing the story and illustrations.

Having their own book to take home and read with their family will help to instill a love for reading and help them to practice pre-reading skills.
