Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are superheroes in training! They are always ready and willing to be there for others. They are enthusiastic learners who are striving to be the very best version of themselves. We work daily on becoming positive role models to others. Our mission is to inspire greatness in others by what we do every day. They come from many different backgrounds and are always willing to be leaders. More than one-third of my students come from low-income families. They need flex-space for working.
My Project
Our school is striving to increase family engagement. Students know that their families care about their education when they see them at school, whether during the school day, evening events, or at home. Our school's family events strive to provide resources and ways to help their child at home.
Research shows that family engagement increases student success.
Families are tired after a long day at work and struggle to get to school to attend evening school events. One way to get families to come is to provide a free event with free raffle prizes. The free raffle prizes for families who attend, provide feedback on their learnings from the event, and a draw for families to get a prize. The goal is for every family to earn a prize!
