My Students

My students are amazing and eager learners! The majority of my students are from low-income families, many speaking languages other than English and some living in difficult situations. Despite these obstacles, they come to school every day with smiles on their faces, ready to learn.

My students come to school wondering what we are going to learn about today!

They enter the room looking around to see what new activities are ready for them to work on. I try to make my classroom a place the students are eager to come to every school day!

My Project

My students need hands-on STEM activities in our classroom. The fairy tale unit each year is a favorite in my classroom. This kit will benefit my students by tying in fairy tales with STEM activities.

These activities will incorporate literacy skills from the fairy tale read alouds with hands-on experiments.

The activities take scenarios from the story and give the students opportunities to extend their thinking beyond the story. Students will have opportunity to interact with their peers, work together to develop solutions and come up with solutions on their own.

The fairy tale unit in my classroom will be complete with the addition of these STEM kids.
