My students need an aquaponic fish tank and related supplies to provide them with the enriching experience of caring for the fish and plants, while observing the scientific marvel of aquaponic plant growth.
My students inspire me with their energetic interest in possibilities. I see their endless potential and thus believe they are a hope and a wish for a bright future. It is up to me and my colleagues to find ways to maintain their interests, spark their imaginations and harness this potential to help mold the future generations of this world.
At this age, so much is changing; their lives, their minds, their education.
And, even though this change is daunting and seemingly endless, many of them greet each day, ready to accept the challenge that lies before them; another mark of their potential.
What is most inspiring about these students is their circumstance. I teach in a Title One school with a wide variety of languages, ethnicity and home-life situations. Yet, my students keep going. They keep coming to school, trying their best and giving it their all in the hopes that one day, despite whatever odds may be against them, they will tap into that potential, use what we have taught them and become the future generation all educators aspire to cultivate.
My students are very interested in getting a fish with an aquaponic tank for our classroom, so that they can have an enjoyable and educational class enrichment experience.
They are already interested in and fascinated by the aquaponic system of growing small plants and want to see this system in action!
The ecological benefits of aquaponics are undeniable. This experience can have a profound impact on students' understanding of environmentally friendly agriculture.
We plan to set up the tank in a prominent place in the classroom and use our enrichment time in class to observe the changes and growth in the plants and the health of the habitat for the fish.
