My Students

The students who I have the honor of serving this year are eager, excited learners! Unfortunately, the poverty they live in and uncertainty of how their needs will be met overshadows their desire. Many of them live in low-income housing or housing that isn't safe. But at our school, we strive to make sure what goes on outside of the school isn't brought inside, so they can be focus on being life-long learners. We want our students to live up to their full potentials!

My Project

My students are at a staggering disproportion when it comes to being on grade-level for their reading and comprehension when compared to other students in the same grade level. While this can be attributed to many factors, the factor I focus on most is the lack of having adequate classroom materials. The requested paper materials will allow me to ensure each of my students does not go without when it comes to information being delivered and displayed inside and outside of the classroom. Workbooks are not always available as they can be costly so having paper to make copies of information to ensure my students are learning and comprehending is a must! In addition, chart paper allows me to convey crucial pieces of our lessons and for my students to communicate with each other. The sticky notes provide for communication on assignments in the form of notes and organization tools when reading various texts.
