My Students

This school serves a low income, hardworking community in Central Arkansas. My students are from the inner city, and 97% are from high poverty and low socioeconomic neighborhoods. We have students consisting of grades 6 through 8. These students are caring, determined, and hard working.

Our student population is diverse, and our scholars embrace their diversity with enthusiasm, and an eagerness to help each other to understand things that make them different.

We always strive to let our students know that regardless of the adversities they may face in life, they can do anything they desire if they put their minds and bodies into what they want to achieve.

A lot of our students, however, are not always afforded the opportunity to play on organized teams and leagues due to the expenses. Help us give our students the tools they need to be successful this year.

My Project

These materials will definitely make a difference in my students' learning in the classroom. Virtual Reality headsets used in the classroom allows students to actively experience and understand complex concepts, eliminates distractions, and encourages creativity. Using virtual reality in the classroom allows students to grasp theoretical concepts faster and in greater depth. It will enhance the learning process by adding content that is engaging while also allowing for experimentation practice and learning by doing. Using Virtual Reality headsets will allow students to work at their own pace to increase their level of performance on various physical education and athletic skills. Students who have a desire to improve their grades in physical education but have a problem performing the physical activities required in the classroom will have the opportunity to improve their skills through virtual reality learning. In addition, student athletes will be able to hone their skills in basketball, baseball, volleyball, and other sports by practicing and improving their athletic performance through the use of virtual reality.
