My Students

I teach in a high poverty area. Most of my students come from low-income backgrounds. They come to school each day like a sponge, ready to soak in new information and with open hearts and open minds. They come to school each day with smiles on their faces, no matter what happened the night before or even that morning. They come to school to be loved and provided with the best education that they deserve! They are wonderful!

My Project

I hope to provide my students with alternative seating options in my classroom to increase engagement, allow time for movement, and provide students with the option of learning in a way they feel most comfortable! Research shows that students who are given alternative seating options such as stability balls, will increase engagement during instruction, increase metabolism, are motivated and show positive behavior. Flexible seating allows choice and helps students feel comfortable in their environment. Flexible seating also encourages more of a class community. The students feel comfortable in their surroundings, allowing them to move freely and without restrictions. I hope you can help support my project!
