My Students

This year has been a trying year with the students getting back in the rhythm of attending school in person. I serve 9 different schools in the district. I have the absolutely best students in the world. I teach gifted students in grades 2nd through 6th. My students have unlimited potential but with limited resources. My job is to give them every opportunity to be successful not only in school but in life.

I teach an intellectually gifted class in a rural Mississippi town with 99% of the students living in poverty.

This leaves us few resources for supplies. Families struggle to provide ordinary supplies to our schools. Providing supplies for my students allows my students to be less worried about bringing and providing supplies, especially this year in such uncertainty. This year will be new and exciting!

My Project

With COVID taking back over our communities it has been difficult to meet with other teachers in our state to brainstorm ideas and activities to have for my students. I am requesting these games, centers, and activities to help push my students to the next level in all of their subject areas. In gifted, we cover all subject areas, which leave me sometimes scrambling for fun and exciting activities that will hold the students attention.

If I can help the students stay engaged in class, I am certain that they will reach their goal of reaching the next level.

On Donors Choose, it allows me to choose activities that other teachers around the US have found successful. My students deserve the best and I am trying my best to give it to them.
