My Students

My students are an amazingly diverse group of second graders. We strive to be a student-led classroom. In our class, stations and centers are differentiated based on the learning levels of students. This requires a lot of planning and materials, however, seeing my students grow and bridge so many gaps makes it all worth it.

My Project

Developing strong reading habits in early education is imperative to help students hold on to the love of reading. Providing exciting, interesting, and engaging material helps students develop a love of holding a book in their hands and going on an adventure.

The Toon Book Kits are full of books that will keep my students excited and wanting to read more.

Reading helps children learn to make sense not only of the world around them but also people, building social-emotional skills and of course, imagination. Reading exposes us to other styles, other voices, other forms, and other genres of writing.
