When we got th eggs my students were excited to open up our fake eggs to see how they were growing each day and the changes that were happening. The incubator was so easy to set up and did a great job controlling the temperature. Out of our 15 eggs, we had 12 healthy chicks hatch! \r\n\r\nAfter they spent time in the incubator to dry, the new brooder was so perfect to put them into. I love that you can adjust the temp to make sure the chicks were just right. The clear sides make it so my students can come in each day and easily see how the chicks are growing and how they are doing and keeping them safe. Then when it's time for them to touch them we can open the doors and the students can reach inside without the possibility of escape. They have been loving interacting with them everyday. I also did not need to worry about any of the bedding/food/feeder accessories thanks to you!\r\n\r\nNot only are my students engaging and enjoying seeing the life cycle of chickens in real life, but we also have many classes stop in daily. There are even 3 sped friends that come from second and they have been so intrigued and asking all the questions. They have to come in every day just to check on them!\r\n\r\nThanks to you, I will be able to share with students for many years to come! Thank you so much for investing in students and giving them an experience they may not have otherwise!","fullyFundedDate":1763581198267,"projectUrl":"project/crackin-into-learning-hatching-chicks/9792300/","projectTitle":"Crackin' Into Learning: Hatching Chicks in Kindergarten!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Linda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1505720_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y386&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759619302324","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1505720"},{"teacherId":1505720,"projectId":9792253,"letterContent":"The students were so excited to see the huge box come in! When I told them what it was they were so excited to start their own garden. After seeing it set up they had all the questions on what we were planting and how long it should take and so much more!\r\n\r\nThis was so fun for the students to set up. The kids really enjoyed planting all the seeds and they got to sound out the words to label our seeds. We were able to plant lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, basil, dill, parsley, spinach and strawberries. In the smaller one we are going to try to do some flowers and see if it works.\r\n\r\nWe left for spring break and when I went to check on them yesterday the sprouts were starting to pop up. I can't wait to see their reactions upon entering the classroom! We are going to be documenting their progress and writing in our journals.
