Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The school library is a fundamental element of students' education. At our school, the library is a hub for fostering learning, creativity, and community. Our students are hands-on learners who thrive when abstract concepts are made tangible.

We are working hard to build 21st-century skills, and need updated resources to support high-quality computer science lessons in our library.

Replacing our old and outdated robots with new Evo Ozobots is a great way to help our students, through visual and hands-on learning, see how their coding ideas come to life. I am requesting seven Evo Ozobot robots and magnetic track system for use with students in the school library. These tiny, smart robots offer screen-free coding options, as well as block-based coding. Students will learn about sequencing, loops, and debugging; connecting Computer Science Standards. They will use angles and measurement to build paths for their Bot to navigate; connecting Mathematics Standards. Students will also apply ELA skills to explain their coding design and process; connecting ELA Standards.

“Evo Ozobots: Let’s Get Coding!” will boost student engagement, promote collaboration, and increase motivation. By supporting this project, you are helping my students develop foundational problem-solving skills necessary for the everyday world. Let’s make learning come to life!
