Everything STEAM

Help me give my students all of the things we need to have a successful start of our year, whether it's basic supplies, incentives, or much needed snacks. All these items are essential.

My Project

This will be my 5th year as my school’s STEAM specials teacher. I see all of the students on my campus from grades K-6. With almost 400 students going through my tiny classroom on a biweekly rotation, I’m amazed we’re able to keep it as intact as it is. This comes with a lot of rituals and routines, respect for each other, and a lot of supply refills. Each year, I’ve been purging items we don’t use to make what we Do use more accessible and readily available for use.

I need new furniture, supplies, and snacks to make my room more accessible and available for students to have access to needed items when they need it without having to dig them out.

I have four different types of printers, so a new stand would be an amazing space saver for our class. I’m also opening up our makerspace to allow for more creativity, but would like a dust cover for the heat press to increase it’s longevity as our school is tucked up against a mountain and gets very dusty, daily.

My students are highly motivated by incentives, so squishies work wonders for reinforcing positive behaviors, perseverance, problem solving and more. My students also get hungry often, especially if they have late lunch, so snacks work as stomach fillers and incentives. Deodorant is a no brainer, when you have 3rd-6th graders on campus, there’s no judgement by me, need a stick, come on by and grab one, anytime of the day.

My class isn’t just a place for learning, it’s a place where students can come when they need someone to talk to, need a creative escape, or just need a quiet place to sit before heading home.
