Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second-grade scholars are bright, curious, and eager to learn. They come from diverse backgrounds and learn best when given hands-on opportunities to explore, create, and problem-solve. In our classroom, students are constantly discovering new ways to engage with STEM, strengthen foundational skills, and develop independence. However, we do not currently have enough materials to fully support their learning needs.

This project will provide our classroom with STEM manipulatives, privacy desks, and sensory toys that will help every student succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Privacy Desks/Dividers: Some scholars struggle to focus when seated near peers. Privacy desks will give students a personal learning space, reduce distractions, and promote independence during tests, writing activities, and small-group work.

Sensory Tools: Several students benefit from sensory toys to help with self-regulation, anxiety, and focus. These tools create a calmer classroom environment and allow scholars to stay engaged and ready to learn.

Strengthen fine motor, problem-solving, and engineering skills

Develop self-regulation strategies and emotional resilience

Experience a classroom environment where every child’s learning style is supported
