My Project

In my high school classroom, creating a warm, welcoming environment is just as important as the lessons I teach. A few years ago, I started adding black office chairs to replace the traditional hard plastic student chairs. Thanks to the incredible generosity of parents in the past, I was able to build a full class set of 40 chairs—something that has made a lasting impact on hundreds of students. The difference has been incredible—students feel more comfortable, focused, and excited to walk into class each day. They often tell me how much they love the chairs and how it makes the classroom feel more like a second home.

Now, a few chairs have worn out over the years, and I’m just a few short of a complete set again.

I'm hoping to replace the older ones and fill in the gaps so that every student can continue to enjoy a comfortable seat every day. These chairs aren’t just about comfort—they’re part of building a space where students feel safe, supported, and valued.
