Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are gifted and talented both in seventh and eighth grades and I hope to provide more STEM-related activities for them this year as well as transforming my classroom to foster students who are more Gifted and Talented.
My class consists of about 130 students.
They are thinkers, innovators, leaders and care for others. They strive for excellence and area always curious. They do their best not just in academics but also in the arts and extracurricular activities.
My Project
Students get a lot of valuable skills and experience by participating in an Esports club. Team sports allows students to learn and experience working in a competitive environment in collaboration with others. Students who participate in esports tend to do better in math and reading and aspire more towards higher education. They have higher self-esteem and engage in fewer harmful behaviors.
By donating to this project, you will not only help students gain valuable soft skills but also help students engage better in their academics and with their peers.
By participating in Esports, students learn to work with others, gain social skills, learn to think and plan strategically, manage failure, and learn to manage their time.
Since we already have Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles, these two xbox controllers and two switch controllers will allow two students to play at the same time on the same console. The charging stations will help us charge the controllers while not being in use.
