This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This semester we are reading the book Esperanza Rising with my basic ELL students. They did so well when they had the book in front of them as opposed to reading the text online. They were able to highlight, underline, and write in the text which helped them be successful and helped the with their comprehension of the story. I would love to give my students the opportunity to be successful again by placing the physical copy in their little hands. It is also a special moment when they get to the end of the physical book and they feel so accomplished. Not many of them ever get to finish a book like that.
