I understand the struggles that students go through on the day to day in our little town. I feel like I can relate to the kids at times because I have walked in their shoes at one time in my life. And am happy to help and give back to my community when I can. With your generous donations it has made it a little easier. Thank you for your donations to our Mental Health Cabinet \r\nMy Wishlist was a variety of items that can help boost students Mental Health, from Snacks, items to ease their anxiety, to hygiene items. \r\nMy students have been very thankful for the snacks. They come to my office for saltine crackers often and sometimes they need a little more sustenance. With your donation I have been able to give them a little extra when they come in hungry. Our school does offer breakfast or lunch to students, but things happen and there may be an array of reasons as to why they aren't able to eat. Your snacks can get them over until they get home. Their eyes light up when I offer them an extra snack when they aren't feeling well or when they tell me they are hungry. Its an extra treat for them. Sometimes a small snack or treat can boost a kid moral after a long day, bad test, or just an off day. Seeing them come in full of anxiety and leave with a smile on their face after sitting and eating something means the world to us. These snacks have also been a great help with my diabetic students. I can offer them different options for their carbs instead of just glucose tabs. I would like to keep up with my snack cabinet as long as I work here. \r\nOur hygiene cabinet has been a hit. The requested items have been put to good use. I have kids who rush out of the house in the morning and forget simple hygiene items and are excited to hear I have some on hand for them. Especially the deodorant-they are so grateful for this! Or if a student has been sick and needs a toothbrush and toothpaste and we offer it to them, this little bright light after a sick day. We provide feminine products here and students have requested, I asked for wipes. The girls are grateful. As women know this part of life is hard. Periods as a teenager are hard and embarrassing. Your items have helped the girls so much. Who knew something so small could make someone's day. I am trying to normalize menstrual cycles in my office. It is something every female goes through, and I want my students to be comfortable with it be able to ask for products when they need them. \r\nLastly, again I'd like to thank you for your generous contribution. Without you a something so small, means the world to my students. And you mean the world to me for donating to my project. I cannot thank you enough.","fullyFundedDate":1725999454413,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-cabinet/8754769/","projectTitle":"Mental Health Cabinet","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Olivia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9536920"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60298","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2465,"numTeachers":101,"percentFrplEligible":53,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":81,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"24.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":47.2,"schoolId":60298,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tolleson Union High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tolleson Union High School ","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/tolleson-union-high-school-district/tolleson-union-high-school/60298"}
