Help me give my students hands-on experiences with our science and social studies curriculum. The lock box supplies will be used for a variety of projects, such as investigating geodes during our rock escape room unit.
My 4th graders love to explore and learn using the hands-on tools that we have in our classroom. They become animated when they get to use the available tools and dive into their learning.
I love watching them be in the drivers seat of their educational journey, watching them learn and grow as they dive into the task at hand.
They are truly engaged and inspired as they take control of their learning! This age group is an amazing group of children, ready to lead our classroom into the 21st century with technology and knowledge.
Students will be able to be hands on during our social studies and science units with the use of these supplies. They will begin by making petroglyphs in a plaster plate to conclude their study of Utah Indians.
Next, students will carve soap, attend a trading post, and enjoy some old fashioned activities just as the Utah pioneers and mountain men did.
Our rendevous is a memorable experience for all of our 4th graders and a tradition that I would like to see continue.
Finally, students will participate in an escape room activity that concludes with them breaking open their own geode and enjoying some rock candy as a reward.
