My Students

My classroom is full of exceptional students. They are members of our exceptional education program at our school previously known as special education.

Due to COVID-19 our school closed and is not currently open to students.

We live in a rural area and most of the children are at a disadvantage when it come to resources for distant learning compared to others. My students are currently working from home; at least those who have access to internet and/or internet capable devices. Assignments are being uploaded to google classroom for some of the classes and other classes are not assigning work as of now. We are not currently allowing students to check out devices in the district. The students who do not have access to internet or internet capable devices are not required to complete assignments until we can figure out a way to serve EVERY student. I am responsible for keeping in contact with my students but am also at a disadvantage seeing as though I do not have a working laptop with a camera. For this reason and sketchy internet access I have not been able to assist those students of mine who are able to join online.

My Project

Please help me give my EXCEPTIONAL students access to an iPad and do fun and exciting lesson that involve breaking out and escaping into learning. For example, using the iPad I will upload the breakout games into the LMS our district uses. The Breakout Escape games will then be assigned to specific groups of students or individual students and they are to complete the exercises and make it to the end(breakout) of the room(assignment).

Breakout experiences are SUPER FUN for students in person and will be fun through distant learning as well.

This resource can be used in student groups or individually. While learning different standards, fun will also take place. Using the iPad to upload the breakout sessions online and assist the students as they begin their learning journey.
