I'm in my fourth year teaching and stick with it because of my love for the kids. They've been through a lot in their last two years of education and continue to amaze me with their resiliency. It's a hard task for all of us, but we're getting through!
I find it so important to have a solid classroom library where I have books available to hand off to students at a moment's notice.
I'm looking to add a classroom set of Tuesdays with Morrie, 5 copies of commonly checked-out books, and a few extras that I'm excited to share with my students!
My Project
Having quality literature accessible in my classroom gives me the best chance at getting kids to be willing to read. It's a lost art with so many teens, and I am determined to get them (and keep them) hooked on reading. I love when I can hand a book to a kid and tell them they keep it as long as it takes them to finish it.
I'm also wanting to study Tuesdays with Morrie as a whole class, an important novel in understanding what really matters in life.
This classroom set will give me the opportunity to finish the year with my 11th graders with this book!
