My Students

I teach sixth grade English Language Arts to a number of enthusiastic, energetic learners. My students are working on learning about tolerance and having empathy for others. We come from a small school, and these students have a passion for teaching others about accepting differences.

I have many students that work hard on being leaders and treating others with respect despite their diversities.

In a world that needs compassion, tolerance, acceptance, and empathy, I am so proud of the students that I teach that are working on teaching others these important things.

My Project

I teach a unit about the Holocaust each year. My students became overwhelmed with empathy and compassion for the Jewish lives that were taken during the Holocaust. They started a project to collect erasers to "erase hatred" to create a memorial for all of the lives that were taken. Each eraser represents one Jewish life. Our goal is to collect 6 million erasers to represent all of the 6 million Jewish lives, and to give them a final resting place. So far, we have collected 66,333 erasers. We would love help to collect more to show the impact and enormity of the lives that were taken because of a lack of tolerance for differences. Please help us collect more, and reach our goal.
