Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The goal of this project at Friendship Southeast Academy, located in Ward 8 D.C., is to enhance the teaching environment by offering teachers and coaches the flexibility to stand and multitask effectively during the school day. These standing desks will allow educators to move around easily, engage with students from various vantage points, and promote a healthier work-life balance by reducing prolonged sitting hours.

10 Adjustable Standing Desks: These desks will offer teachers and coaches the option to switch between sitting and standing positions, promoting movement and active engagement throughout the day.

By introducing adjustable standing desks into our classrooms and hallways, we aim to:

Improve teacher productivity and focus during instruction.

Encourage movement and physical well-being among educators.

Enhance communication and interaction between teachers and students in different areas of the school environment.
