My students need 6 interactive software games, such as Phonics Tic-Tac-Toe and Vocabulary Quiz Game Show, to be able to use our new Smartboard as an interactive learning tool.

My Students

I am a Reading Recovery teacher in Arkansas where the students in the area have very little, and yet they come to school each and every day wanting to learn. They arrive early for breakfast before they head for their classroom. I have Literacy Groups in grades K-3rd.

Do you remember what it was like sitting at your desk all day long during class time?

The interactive technology programs that I am requesting will help my students learn, while getting them out of their seats. This will allow me to either work with individual students or with small reading groups.

My Project

We received a Smartboard this year but no interactive programs. My students will use these 6 interactive Smartboard programs, including Highlight the Clues, Language Test-Taking Strategies, and Tic-Tac-Toe Reading Games, to enhance their learning in different concepts. These are programs that can be used to turn over the teacher role to the students. This will allow students to stay on task as they interact with each other, with less distractions, as well as have fun while learning.

It is hard for students to manage themselves at their seats while I work with small groups.

I am certain these programs will help them learn and stay on task while I work with other students. The use of these interactive programs will have an impact on all my students. The programs will help my reading groups by having less distractions in the classroom and help other students to stay on task.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
