Engineering the Education, Printing the Parts & Engaging the Mind

Help me give my students the opportunity to 3D print their very own STEM projects with this Bambu Lab P1S printer.

My Project

While many see multi-color printing as an aesthetic choice, in our engineering class, it will be accompanied by functionality, experience and learning. This printer will allow my students to color-code complex assemblies. By printing different mechanical systems (such as gears, levers, and structural frames) in distinct colors, students can better visualize and analyze how separate components interact within a single machine. It moves them beyond printing 'trinkets' and into the world of industrial-grade prototyping, where clarity of design is paramount. The 3D printer will be used to print the actual STEM projects. They can download up to10 different projects a month we can choose from. These kits provide the files to 3D print and the students can print and build their own STEM projects. This resource transforms our 3D printer from a standalone tool into a complete manufacturing hub, allowing students to build projects they can learn from and propel them in many different STEM fields. Our students are highly motivated in the STEM fields and this would be a great addition to spark their curiosity and give them a working knowledge of the Engineering Design Process.
