Our students are diverse and they all strive to be "civic-minded leaders, accomplished writers, and resilient lifelong learners."
Becoming accomplished writers and lifelong learners means that students must be exposed to a variety of quality literature and engage in meaningful and engaging early reading lessons.
In order to scaffold the skills used by avid readers, I need to first and foremost engage my students in the literature in which they read. The "just right" books will engage even the most hesitant readers who often view reading as something that is required at school.
Using quality literature books will help my students become interested readers who are able to complete their reading homework assignments independently each night.
We are requesting these book sets that will engage students in topics of interest that are also at their current reading levels.
