Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a large, evolving socially diverse urban community that welcomes families from all over the globe. They bring a special blend of linguistic diversity, background knowledge, prior experiences and culture to our school. Much of their experience is troubling and they are here for a better life. Free breakfast and free lunch are available to every child in our building each day, My students are creative, clever and very committed about relevant learning for their future.
They also love to listen to audiobooks to help them engage with our reading.
They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in our digital learning platform.
My students love to listen to different audiobooks, and we also do classroom read-alouds together. Our current technology does not allow us to easily listen to audiobooks together. It is challenging to teach the required content and curriculum with our current technology. My students struggle to engage with the required content and curriculum. Students need headphones in order to fully participate in their work, and we need a loud speaker to listen so we can easily listen to our read alouds together.
