Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My goal is to create a classroom where my students receive the tools to change the world. I will educate 100-125 students; of which all come from low-income families, 90% of whom are English-Language-Learners or have been placed in SPED classes.

Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation.

That exposure and motivation will come from creating a classroom environment that makes them feel valued and respected; while being the center of their learning. The Shark Tank project will allow students to use their critical thinking skills that will reach cross-curriculum. Students will have access to print and make documents that will support their product. Students will learn how to write proposals, create budgets, and create advertisement to sell their product.

Students will be able to use the printer to print proposals and documents to get "investors" to invest into their product. The anchor paper and markers, will help create plans so they can strategize their product. The books will allow them to think about algebraic projects that can connect to their community so they can create successful products. The teacher pay teacher gift card will allow me to find kid friendly budgeting tools to help with their proposals.

My students define "beating the odds", although they come from low-income communities they continue to work hard in school and have so many creative ideas. My students have displayed GRIT and dedication to being successful. Nonetheless, they have big dreams and many great inventions. They dream of graduating and going off to college and/or creating a successful business. With your help, we can acquire the tools and skills to reach those goals. Students will work in the final semester of the year to create the best invention that may change the world.
