The tools you helped fund allow students to explore concepts interactively, collaborate in real time, and access resources that make learning more personalized. For example, students who once struggled to stay engaged during lessons are now actively participating through interactive activities and digital projects.\r\n\r\nThe new technology has sparked a wave of excitement in our classroom. Students are particularly thrilled about how it lets them create, not just consume—designing presentations, coding simple games, and exploring topics through multimedia. The sense of ownership and creativity it encourages is incredible to see.\r\n\r\nSeveral students has especially taken to this new technology. They've gone from being hesitant to share ideas to confidently leading small groups and helping others navigate the tools. It's inspiring to witness how access to the right resources can unlock a student's confidence and curiosity.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and in the power of technology to enhance learning. For example, during writing workshops, several students prefer to work at the standing desks because the wide surface gives them space to spread out their notebooks and Chromebooks. Others enjoy the choice of using the stool, which offers them a break from the traditional chairs they sit in for most of their other classes. The desks have quickly become so popular that I've had to create a rotation system to make sure everyone has an equal opportunity to use them.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first walked in and saw the new desks many of them immediately asked if they could try them out, and they loved discovering that they had both the option to stand and the comfort of using a stool. It truly made them feel like my classroom was for them.\r\n\r\nBecause the desks keep students more focused and engaged, the next step for us is using them consistently during collaborative projects and presentations. They're already helping students feel more energized and motivated to learn, and I know the desk will continue to make our classroom an inviting and productive space for everyone.","fullyFundedDate":1747490182929,"projectUrl":"project/on-their-feet-on-their-game-standing-d/9091520/","projectTitle":"On Their Feet, On Their Game: Standing Desk for Engaged learning.","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Acosta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7560810_orig.jpg?crop=1273,1273,x358,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1738347376099","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7560810"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96611","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":690,"numTeachers":67,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":92,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.5,"schoolId":96611,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Francisco Medrano Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Francisco Medrano Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/dallas-independent-school-district/medrano-middle-school/96611"}
