Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In an English Language Arts classroom, timely feedback is everything. When students write essays, they need guidance quickly to improve their skills. Currently, my aging technology slows down this process, making it difficult to grade digital assignments efficiently, manage student portfolios, and create the engaging, visual lesson plans that today’s students respond to best.

This new HP laptop will serve as the "Digital Publishing Center" for our classroom.

Faster Feedback for Growth: With its high processing power and 16GB of RAM, this device will allow me to open dozens of student essays simultaneously without freezing. This means I can grade faster and provide more detailed, real-time feedback to students, helping them become stronger writers.

Multimedia Instruction: The large screen and massive storage (1TB) will allow me to curate a digital library of videos, audiobooks, and interactive slides to project during lessons, making complex texts come alive for struggling readers.

Data Driven: I will use this workstation to track student reading growth data and manage digital portfolios, ensuring that no student falls through the cracks.

I can maximize its usage by making it a:

"Station": I will set it up connected to my projector. Since it has a touchscreen, I can stand at my desk and scroll through a digital book or zoom in on a paragraph while the class watches on the big screen.

"Conference" Tool: When I pull a student up to my desk for a 1-on-1 writing conference, the touchscreen is perfect. I can tap and highlight parts of their essay right on the screen to show them what to fix.
