My Project

Hello! My name is Alexa, and I am the art teacher at a public, all-girls, college-preparatory school serving students from 6th grade through high school. Our school supports girls growing up in under-resourced communities by providing a high-quality education that prepares them for college and beyond. This school year is especially meaningful because TYWLS Staten Island is launching its very first official art program.

As we build this program from the ground up, our art studio needs essential supplies to give students the creative experiences they deserve.

Many of my students are eager to explore art, but have had limited access to materials and opportunities in the past. We are requesting Multicultural + Rainbow CRAYONS & Sketchbooks, Mobile Floor Drying Rack, Melanin Series Paint, Canvas Panel Boards, and more. With your support, students will be able to work with professional-quality art supplies, experiment with different media, and develop confidence in their creative voices. These experiences help students build problem-solving skills, self-expression, and pride in their work—skills that extend far beyond the art room. Your donation will directly impact students by providing the tools they need to fully engage in art-making and experience the joy of creating.

Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated by both myself and the girls at TYWLS! Thank you for helping bring creativity, opportunity, and inspiration to our classroom.
