My Project

Second graders are at a critical point in their learning journey. At this stage, they are transitioning from learning basic reading skills to reading chapter books and expressing their thinking through longer, more detailed writing. This is an exciting time—but it can also be challenging without strong, structured instruction.

To better support second graders, I am seeking access to **Educate’s 2nd Grade Tier 1 Roadmap**, a research-based training grounded in the Science of Reading.

This course will provide a clear, step-by-step framework for delivering high-quality literacy instruction that meets the needs of all learners, including multilingual students.

Through this training, I will learn how to implement **Educate’s 7-Step Tier 1 Framework©**, which offers structured routines that build reading and writing skills in a meaningful and consistent way. I will also gain access to real classroom demonstration videos, allowing me to see effective instruction in action and apply those strategies directly in the classroom.

Most importantly, this project will deepen my understanding of *why* each step of instruction matters. With this knowledge, I can make more intentional teaching decisions that help second graders strengthen comprehension, expand vocabulary, and grow into confident, independent readers and writers.
