My Project

I am a school counselor, at a Title I, elementary school. I work with a diverse population of students who come from a variety of backgrounds. I advocate and teach students emotional regulation skills that they can use when they have big feelings. These sensory tools will help students calm down through touch and feel.

Sensory exploration in early child development can be a powerful tool to help develop creativity and problem solving .

As students use tools to help them regulate their emotions they start to recognize how they are feeling and ways that work for them to calm down. These tools will be a valuable asset that can be used by all of our students when needed.
