This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The state-mandated assessment window is here! I am seeking your support to provide healthy snacks and small trinkets to my striving students.

As multi-lingual learners from diverse cultures, my students are continually discovering their unique strengths and abilities.

Because they are in the third, fourth and fifth grades, they must take rigorous tests in English language proficiency, mathematics and English language arts. 88% of students in our school are low-income and 92% are high-needs. For the past four years, my students have consistently demonstrated growth and proficiency on these tests. How are these impressive results possible? In addition to building and promoting our inclusive, caring community that embraces their individuality and maintains excellence, I have been able to recognize their efforts by offering healthy snacks and exciting prizes. The inspiring incentives work to provide a stimulating, supportive testing climate where they can engage with the challenges of mandated testing with less anxiety, tension and stress.

Young children who speak a variety of languages at home and in the community, such as Ukrainian, Pashto, Turkish, Spanish and Portuguese will experience your empowerment and recognition through your generous donation. The nourishing snacks provide the fuel they need to have the stamina to perform their best during testing. A diverse selection of small toys and crafts value their varied interests and backgrounds. Please know that your contribution impacts multi-lingual learners’ academic performance and social-emotional growth.
