My Students

My students are fun, energetic 5th-graders that love to learn. My students are from a rural area. They want to learn about the world around them and themselves.

Like most 5th-graders, they are full of wiggles, just as every child should be.

They enjoy learning and know-how to work hard. Their curiosity about the world and themselves. Students are excited to learn how their brains work and how they can work in the world around them.

Our school is well kept and well-liked. Teachers, parents, and students work together, making the school a fun and good place to be.

My Project

Students are finding it harder and harder to express how they are feeling. Are they frustrated with math? Or are they frustrated with the world around them? Many students do not know how to express these feelings positively.

It is ok to disagree with others; we can still be kind.

These feelings and actions are taught day in and day out. Students need access to information about how they feel and how they can positively handle these emotions that keep them safe and the people around them safe.

These books are at grade level; we can read them as a class. They will also be kept in the calming desk where students go when they need a few minutes to pause what they are doing and get in touch with their emotions and handle them. These resources will be great for the students in my class!
