My Students
My students are a wonderful group of diverse children. Family roots from all parts of the world give us seven different languages and cultures. We have tried to include all the represented cultures in our celebrations and learning.
These students are excited to learn and eager to share their learning with others.
They are becoming good readers and enjoy trying new books.
The students in my room work well together. They have become good citizens preparing for future grade levels.
My Project
Elephant and Piggie books teach real examples of friendship and feelings. Elephant and Piggie are not always perfect but they learn from their mistakes and learn how to cope with differences. Their imaginations are an inspiration to the students in play and in writing.
Students will learn how to problem solve and think about others' feelings when reading or listening to these books.
Elephant and Piggie books show how to be a true friend.
The text helps students identify feeling words and the correct punctuation to use with those words. Students will be able to draw on the reading experience for their own writing assignments.
