My Project

I am excited to step into the role of elementary art teacher and provide my students with a wide variety of creative experiences in art class. As this is my first year building the art program at my school, I will be rebuilding classroom supplies on a limited budget.

My goal is to engage all of my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade students through a variety of artistic mediums and techniques.

As children spend more time using technology, I want the art room to be a place where students can dive into hands-on lessons that encourage creativity, self-expression, and imagination. Throughout the year, students will explore and create using markers, oil pastels, tempera paint, watercolor paint, and other engaging materials.

I teach in a rural community where opportunities for art classes outside of school are limited, making it even more important for students to experience and explore the arts during the school day. As a classroom teacher, I have seen so many students demonstrate a natural talent for and love of art but lack opportunities to further develop those interests. I am thrilled to create a space where students can feel inspired, confident, and encouraged to grow creatively.
