My Students

I have a wide variety of personalities in my classroom, which makes every day a new adventure. I have students who are very confident and energetic, as well as students who are soft-spoken and relaxed. I have students who live and breathe every sport possible and those who can draw masterpieces in minutes. I can see the endless amount of potential in my students and I want to help them access that potential through essential classroom materials.

My Project

These materials are the basics that help my classroom run daily. From pencils and color pencils to computer headphones and printer ink, each item on the list is essential to the digital and physical activities that we complete.

Close to 170 students come through my door each day.

Because of my large classroom sizes, these items are consumed very quickly. The jumbo and regular sticky notes are used for collaborating, discussing, and brainstorming during our novel and short story units. We burn through highlighters as students learn to analyze and break down texts. The headphones allow students to access lesson recordings and visual aids. Crayons and markers are available to students as they create one-pagers and take visual notes. While these materials are simple, they are incorporated into nearly every unit we complete.

Due to the demands of COVID-19, many students are not able to afford these materials on their own. They depend on me to provide the school essentials that help ensure engagement and teamwork each day. This restock will allow me to keep supplying students with the materials they need to succeed.
