My Project
In the spring, our three kindergarten classes hatch chicken eggs. Our students love learning science through play and hands-on activities! This project would support three kindergarten classrooms in a fun, creative way through learning about life cycles, science observation skills, and then learning through play.
Kindergarteners love to play and use their imaginations to learn! They need hands-on materials to learn new information and opportunities to play.
Items such as incubators, feeders and waterers will help them to imagine themselves at a farm raising chickens while watching real eggs hatch into chickens and then helping chicks grow into chickens! The items will be used to support the science standards as well as let littles play and incorporate what they have learned into imaginary play. These items are just what kindergarten will need to develop scientists and creative thinkers. Students will be able to collect and examine pretend eggs, pet chickens, AND watch chicks hatch. We will be able to experience farm life right in the classroom.
