Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This will be the first time, that I will do a unit on Earth Day! We will read books about endangered animals in Spanish and watch videos on climate change. My creative and artistic students will do a poster about an endangered animal. They will present it to the class. The students will have a choice of the materials they use for their art work on an endangered animal. Students will have an option whether to paint on canvas, use color pencils or crayons. They may use stickers to decorate their poster. We will make it a contest! When I incorporate art in a project to tie the learning objective students always enjoy the lesson. Students are truly engaged.

Most importantly the world is facing a climate crises and students need to learn about the different species that are endangered.

We need to take action now. That is why I will be teaching a unit on Earth Day!
