Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help disadvantaged students have access to new technology in the classroom. Many of these students need the stimulation and instant visual interaction needed to learn not only concepts but new vocabulary. Their tiny hands can't control a computer mouse and the touch-screen is a great help for them.

My students are kindergarten language learners in a Title I school in California.

That means that they come from poverty level households, and English is their second language. Our district has started implementing more technology in our curriculum such as the new California Treasures program and Envision Math. Also there is a Voyager program for all students who have technology at home. However most of our students have no access to these benefits, even in our school, due to outdated computers.

My Project

The use of the Sony Tablet makes it so much easier for my students to access not only visuals to new vocabulary and new concepts but curriculum filled activities at a faster speed. We have to give them the chance to be exposed to new technology that enhances their learning. Please help me achieve such a goal.

By providing a tablet to our classroom you help students have more access to visuals, learn new concepts or new vocabulary that they will need to succeed in acquiring English, and also access the new curriculum via technology which is their present and future.
