My students are very hard working, supportive of one another, accept each other and most importantly, they are motivated on a daily basis. A third of my students receive ESL support because English is not their first language. Half my class receives free or reduced lunch and come from a low-income household.
My students have never ventured outside of their hometown, limiting their experiences.
Being in fifth grade some of my students have never experienced visiting Chicago or the zoo. My students are appreciative, respectful and responsible individuals. They always put a smile on my face and make coming to work easy!
My Project
These materials will help my students broaden their knowledge and imagination. The maps will allow students to identify the various locations they read about in both ELA and Social Studies. The various book sets are going to be added in the classroom library, allowing them to escape into a new world.
Having an iPad and Tablet in my classroom will help both my IEP and ESL students.
They require additional support throughout the day and benefit from listening to the text being read to them. Since many students are visual learners, it will help for students to locate on a map the different cities, countries and continents mentioned in various texts. The timers requested help my ADD and ADHD students that need to know how much time is left to complete the given task. Glue and pencil sharpener are essential materials that will be utilized by every student.
All the materials requested will be put to great use. Each material will enhance their learning and understanding of the lesson. The materials will help each student grow and progress daily. Thank you for taking the time to helping each student achieve their goals!
