For my students who receive speech therapy under an IEP, communication isn't just a skill—it's the key to their independence and confidence. These materials have transformed our therapy room into a space where every student, regardless of their verbal ability, has a way to be heard.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited to receive the new materials! They were even more excited when they saw the books in their native language of Spanish! It makes a difference to pick up a book without having to transcribe it. \r\n\r\nSince introducing these new tools, I have seen a visible shift in student engagement. My students are now more eager to participate in sessions with our new books, updated articulation/phonology cards, and language materials. We are currently working on our articulation sounds in words, sentences, and in conversation along and we are using our language materials to answer questions, we paired the books with story grammar activities, and having resources makes that hard work feel like play. \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much!","fullyFundedDate":1764703507489,"projectUrl":"project/new-tools-to-unlock-student-voices/9708040/","projectTitle":"New Tools to Unlock Student Voices!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nunez, Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9568448"},{"teacherId":9568448,"projectId":9604056,"letterContent":"We are grateful for your generous donation that fully funded our project! Your support provided essential needs for my bilingual students receiving speech and language therapy, specifically funding crucial games and therapy materials. These resources are directly boosting their academic success and engagement, as we were able to acquire culturally and linguistically appropriate items. By funding these tools, you are directly supporting the development of Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency (CALP) in both Spanish and English. Our students are now engaging in an equitable and welcoming learning environment where they feel validated and can make critical cross-linguistic connections.
