Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students with autism thrive when learning materials are visual, interactive, and consistent. Adapted books and hands-on activities help them build communication, literacy, social, and daily living skills in ways that meet their individual needs. Because many of my students learn through repeated practice and sensory engagement, our classroom materials are used constantly throughout the school day. Unfortunately, paper-based resources quickly become damaged from frequent handling, bending, tearing, and cleaning, making it difficult to provide students with reliable tools they can use independently and confidently.

A 10 mil laminator and laminating pouches would allow me to create durable adapted books, visual schedules, task cards, communication supports, and interactive learning activities that can withstand daily wear and tear.

Thicker lamination will help materials last for years instead of weeks, ensuring students always have access to consistent supports that promote success and independence. By investing in durable classroom resources, donors will help provide my students with engaging materials designed specifically for their unique learning needs, creating a more structured, accessible, and supportive environment where they can continue to grow academically and socially.
