Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Theatre is where students find their voice.

In my high school theatre classroom, students are not just performing — they are designing, collaborating, problem-solving, and building confidence.

This project provides essential tools that allow our classroom to function like a real working theatre while giving students hands-on experience in both performance and technical theatre.

A portable speaker will be used daily for movement warm-ups, choreography, scene transitions, and sound design. Clear, reliable sound helps students fully engage in rehearsals and brings their work to life.

Organization is critical in a theatre space. Stackable storage bins will help us safely store scripts, props, costumes, and design materials so students can work independently and efficiently in a clean, focused environment.

Students in technical theatre and design will use cutting tools and scissors to create posters, programs, prop labels, set models, and costume renderings. These tools teach precision, craftsmanship, and pride in their work. A laminator will preserve rehearsal schedules, cue sheets, signage, and student design boards, increasing professionalism and long-term usability.

Presentation tools like a wireless remote and mouse allow students to confidently lead design pitches, dramaturgy research, and devised theatre presentations from the performance space, building communication and leadership skills.

Markers and dry erase markers support daily script analysis, blocking notes, brainstorming, and visual planning. A theatre history poster provides inspiration and reinforces that our students are part of a larger storytelling tradition.

Finally, cleaning supplies help maintain a safe, professional theatre environment that protects materials and student health.

These materials are the foundation of a functioning theatre classroom. With your support, students will have the tools they need to create, collaborate, and grow as artists and leaders.
